At Zaytouna, we envision a world where culture is preserved through arts and entertainment. We believe that creativity is a fundamental human trait that should be nurtured and celebrated! Our goal is to create a platform that inspires, educates, and entertains individuals about palestinian dabke in Canada, more specifically, in Mississauga, Oakville, and Toronto.
Zaytouna Academy of Cultural Arts is a not-for-profit organization rooted in the belief that cultural heritage is a powerful tool for identity, expression, and community building. Established in 2015, Zaytouna is dedicated to preserving and promoting Palestinian folklore through traditional dance, music, and theatre. We empower Arab Canadian youth and families to connect with their roots, celebrate their identity, and share their stories with pride.
Through our diverse array of activities, we provide students and the broader community with valuable opportunities for volunteering and active participation—enriching their personal, professional, and cultural development. From Dabke classes and cultural workshops to large-scale theatrical productions, Zaytouna blends artistic excellence with a deep commitment to heritage—creating spaces where tradition thrives and new generations carry it forward.
تُعد أكاديمية زيتونة للفنون الثقافية مؤسسة غير ربحية تأسست عام 2015، تُعنى بالحفاظ على التراث الثقافي الفلسطيني وتعزيزه من خلال الفنون الشعبية كالدبكة والموسيقى والمسرح. تنطلق الأكاديمية من إيمان راسخ بأن الهوية الثقافية تشكل ركيزة أساسية للتعبير الفردي وبناء المجتمعات القوية والمتماسكة.
تسعى "زيتونة" إلى تمكين الشباب والعائلات من أصول عربية في كندا من التفاعل الإيجابي مع تراثهم، وتعزيز شعورهم بالانتماء، وتقديم روايتهم الثقافية بفخر واعتزاز. كما تتيح الأكاديمية، من خلال برامجها المتنوعة، فرصًا قيّمة للتطوع والمشاركة المجتمعية، بما يسهم في دعم التطوير الشخصي والمهني والثقافي للمشاركين.
وتقدم "زيتونة" مجموعة واسعة من الأنشطة تشمل دروس الدبكة، والورش التعليمية، والعروض المسرحية الاحترافية التي تمزج بين الإبداع الفني والأصالة التراثية، ما يجعلها منصة رائدة في إحياء الفلكلور الفلسطيني وتعزيزه في المهجر.
